The New Creed

An excerpt from a provocative article by Stanislav Mishin, appearing in Pravda:
For years, the Elites of the West have cranked up the myth of Man Made Global Warming as a means first and foremost to control the lives and behaviors of their populations. Knowing full well that their produce in China and sell in the West model and its consiquent spiral downward in wages and thus standards of living, was unsustainable, the elites moved to use this new "science" to guilt trip and scare monger their populations into smaller and more conservatives forms of living. In other words, they coasted them into the poverty that the greed and treason of those said same elites was already creating in their native lands.
What better way to staunch protests at worsening economic and life conditions than to make it feel like an honourable job/duty of the people to save "Gia". At the same time, they used this "science" as a new pagan religion to further push out the Christianity they hate and despise and most of all, fear? Gia worship, the earth "mother", has been pushed in popular culture oozing out of the West for a better part of the past 1.5 decades. This is a religion replete with an army of priests, called Government Grant Scientists.

  1. I'm not so sure about this article. I don't think that the "elites" are so coordinated and homogeneous as to create a myth "to control the lives and behaviors of their populations."

On the other hand, those who favor more government involvement in private life have seized on global warming. It's a perfect crisis. A perfect reason to say "we need these reforms and we absolutely cannot wait. We need to radically change our relationship to government in order to avoid immediate disaster."

But I don't think that global warming was thought up to provide this reason. I also don't think that most people, including the "elites," are pretending to be worried about global warming in order to control you. I think that they are genuinely worried.

The final effect of the scare, however, seems to be the same, regardless of the intention of the "elites." Industry regulation, consumer regulation, and carbon caps and taxes.

    Any thoughts?

  2. Here we part ways.

Without much time for a lengthy reply, I think the whole movement is organized precisely by the West's "elites" on a grand scale, from the U.N. to the entertainment industry (look at Matt Damon's latest error-ridden anti-fracking film, a modern-day iteration of Jane Fonda's China Syndrome) to Obama's political apparatchik (overreaching EPA regulations, etc.) for the exact purpose of advancing socialist, centralization schemes. Behavior control is, in my view, one of the driving, overarching goals of the global warming movement.

This is not to negate legitimate environmental concerns and stewardship, but when you look at the pooh-bahs nudging the global warming agenda forward, and their political leanings, it's difficult to see it as emerging ex nihilo.

It's also difficult to deny the theological simulacrum of the global warming movement, which the Pravda piece touches on quite nicely.

I did say the piece was "provocative" after all.
