From the Telegraph:
Women bishops would humanise priesthood, says Archbishop of Canterbury
Women should be allowed to become bishops in the Church of England to “humanise” the priesthood, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said.
“In arguing for and working for the full inclusion of women in the ordained ministry of the church, what we’re after is not simply justice, though that’s not exactly insignificant, but we are after the humanising of the ordained ministry,” he said.
Humanise the priesthood...I thought that's what Christ did. You know, the Incarnation. One doesn't have to strain the mind too hard to imagine what Pope Benedict XVI, or for that matter, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, must be thinking when they read about this.
